Facts and Questions
  • What is Hemp Momma?

Hemp Momma is an earth-friendly apparel brand that harnesses the energy of Mother Earth to turn hemp, a natural and beautiful fabric, into clothing you will love. From there we create styles you can mix, match, and make your own. Because we believe style and sustainability should go hand in hand.

Our mission does not stop there, we create clothing with respect for nature, with each decision mindfully made. We partner with factories that promote fair labor practices, safe working conditions and environmental responsibility. Each of our partner factories is certified to ensure they align with our goals and philosophy.

  • Where is the product made?

The vast majority of hemp is grown, milled and processed in Asia. We are proud of our manufacturing partners in Asia and their passion for hemp, fair labor practices and environmental stewardship.

Industrial hemp production was only legalized federally in 2018 in the US. Many states still outlaw its cultivation. While the U.S. is ramping up the infrastructure to compete globally, Hemp Momma is exploring domestic collaborations to support hemp farmers and jobs.

  • Why is hemp so good?

Hemp becomes more comfortable the more you wear it. It is easy to care for, very durable and requires minimal water. Hemp is far better for the environment than most materials you’ll find in your closet. It is arguably the oldest and strongest naturally earth-friendly grown fibers. Here’s what we think is the most amazing thing of all: when blended with other materials hemp is also one of the softest and most cozy materials you’ve ever experienced. It truly is incredible!

  • Is your product 100% Hemp content?

Not all of our clothes are hemp. We are proud to share, 78% of our collection is made using hemp. 93% of our products are made using hemp, organic cotton or recycled materials and we won’t stop until it reaches 100%.

  • Are all of your clothes made from hemp?

Workers must be free to join organizations of their own choice. Employers will recognize and respect the right of employees to freedom of association and collective bargaining.

  • Are there any benefits to wearing hemp?

Yes. Hemp is highly durable, gets softer over time, and has excellent breathable and insulation properties. Abrasion resistant, water absorbent and bio-degradable, hemp uses a third of the water compared to cotton and requires no chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

  • How is Hemp Momma different from other brands?

Our motto is hemp first! That said, sustainability is a natural evolution for Hemp Momma. Most brands offer hemp clothing as a small trendy sub-collection. Our approach is hemp first, hemp specific, and hemp driven.

  • I noticed that Hemp Momma has active apparel that isn’t hemp.

Very good observation! Hemp is the main fabric in our clothes. The activewear capsule is created to complement and layer within the hemp collection. However, hemp is stiff and has a ruff hand feel. While hemp is an amazing fabric, due to its water-absorbent nature, it is not ideal for workouts. That’s why we created Claudia Interlock™ which is made with recycled polyester, for quick-dry, high compression, shape retention and body contouring.

  • Environmental Standards:

Factories shall have written environmental policies and standards and must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Factories shall continuously monitor their production process including those related to emissions, discharges and disposal of wastes. Factories shall take a progressive approach to minimize negative impacts on the environment.

For our lifestyle apparel, we blend hemp with organic cotton, recycled polyester sourced mainly from plastic bottles, and Tencel™/ Lyocell, to create hemp blend fabrics that are durable and have a soft hand feel. And this process increases our sustainability portfolio.

  • Can you purchase Hemp Momma in stores?

No. You can purchase it online at www.hempmomma.com or through one of our affiliates.

  • Do you ship to my country?

For now, we ship to the US. We are monitoring international demand closely, please come back and check with us in the near future.

  • Where can I find product sizing information?

Product size information can be found towards the bottom of each web page or on each product page. We offer size measurements in inches and centimeters.

  • Is your fit true to size?

Please refer to size chart to determent what fits you best. In general, our size is designed to be loose fit. If you're prefer a tight fit, we'd recommend to size down.

Industrial hemp production was only legalized federally in 2018 in the US. Many states still outlaw its cultivation. While the U.S. is ramping up the infrastructure to compete globally, Hemp Momma is exploring domestic collaborations to support hemp farmers and jobs.

  • What sizes do you offer?

The majority of our collection is S, M, L, XL, XXL.

  • Is your product 100% Hemp content?

Not all of our clothes are hemp. We are proud to share, 78% of our collection is made using hemp. 93% of our products are made using hemp, organic cotton or recycled materials and we won’t stop until it reaches 100%.

  • How do I take care of my Hemp Momma clothing?

In most cases machine wash with cold water and tumble dry on low heat. The good news is we make our products as easy to care for as possible. Hemp Momma products are pre-washed for added softness and more importantly to minimize shrinkage so you can wear your new favorite HM as care-free as possible. However, we suggest following the care label for best care results.

  • Where do you ship your product from?

We ship direct from our distribution center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

  • What makes the Amelia Fleece™ biodegradable?

  • Why is the Julz Jersey™ fabric so stretchy?

Great question! We built “shape retention” durability into the Julz fabric. We heard from many women about how their favorite tees and sweats stretched out over time. Julz keeps its shape and lasts longer.

  • How do I wash and take care of the Sofie sweater?

Because it is a loose knitted sweater, it will shrink. We suggest hand wash and lay flat to dry. Fold and put on a shelf. Do not hang the sweater because it will grow.

  • The Luna LS Dress Shirt comes in dual sizing (XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL). What is the best size for me?

This style was made with extra room so you can play with multiple looks. Please refer to size chart to determent what fits you best. In general, our size is designed to be loose fit. If you're prefer a tight fit, we'd recommend to size down.

  • Why are Claudia leggings loose at the ankle?

The legging was designed with a slight ankle break for comfort and to mix and match with our hemp collection. The legging still has all the performance attributes but with a lifestyle touch.

  • What are some features of the leggings?

A standard credit card and key holder pocket inside the waistband and a double-layer crotch gusset for added protection.

  • How often do you launch/release new products?

  • Is this product available in my country?

For now, we ship to the US. We are monitoring international demand closely, please come back and check with us in the near future.

  • Why do you name your fabrics?

In development, our fabrics take on their own characteristics. Or as we say, their own personalities. We invest time and energy and want to see them stick around for a while. Naming them brings them to life and allows people to connect, get personal and build trust in your favorite fabric. If our Amelia Fleece™ becomes your trusted favorite fabric, we want to come back and offer you new silhouettes in your favorite fabric.

  • The Julz Jumper is really long on me. Does it come in shorter inseams?

No. The Julz Jumper was designed so you can roll up the hem. For another great chilled look, pull the leg up and wear around your calves.

  • Does the Amelia short come in a size XXL?

Not at this time. We often review our size scale and will adjust where we see increased demand.

  • My Amelia Sweat Pant fit bigger than my Isadora Jogger. Is that correct?

Yes, the Isadora Jogger does fit slightly slimmer than the Amelia Sweat Pant. Even though both pants are great for lounging, the jogger was intended for workouts and layering.

  • I’m a size 33 waist. I noticed you offer even waist sizes only. What size do you suggest?

We suggest sizing up to 34. If you are unsure, measure your waist and follow our size chart (hyperlink).

  • I like my shorts above the knee. Do you offer inseams in your shorts?

Not at this time. Our current shorts sit at the knee. As the men’s collection expands, we will review inseam options on some core short styles.
